A very good friend of mine gave me the photograph of this painting. She loves to scour antique shops and when I told her that I was doing this series she went on a mission to find photos for me. Neither of us have any idea where this was taken but we both agreed that it was interesting. The architecture reminds me of Lincoln Park in Chicago in the early part of the 20th century. There is some-one in the car taking a picture of the person taking the picture of the car. That is the reason for the title “Double Take”.
